KOTO's 89.5 translator suffered what we believe to have been a significant lightning strike sometime in June.  It is currently at the factory awaiting parts.  Our technicians estimate that repair should be completed by the end of the month.  We appreciate your patience and understanding while the Norwood translator is being repaired.

The KOTO Duck Race is Friday, August 6 at noon sharp! Ducks are now on sale! Come to the KOTO offices this week for your duck and starting today look for us on main street in front of American National Bank. Great prizes, 10 bucks a duck, more fun than adults (and kids) should be allowed to have!

There’s a free ballet demonstration at 6 p.m. this evening by students of prima ballerina Valerie Madonia. Then, take in ballet on the big screen with La Scalla Ballet’s production of “Mediterranea.” Tickets for the screening are available at the door.

SquidShow Theatre presents Cataclysm! (The End Is Closer Than You Think. And So Is The Beginning) tomorrow through Tuesday, August 3 at 7 p.m. each night at the DEEP CREEK MINE (located 7 miles west of Telluride, on Highway 145 at mile marker 75). FREE and open to the public. Bring rain gear/umbrellas, just in case! Donations happily accepted - a hat will be passed. Not suitable for children. Telluride Youth Soccer Club is hosting a soccer camp Monday, August 2-Friday, August 6.  The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon for the K - 6th, and 1:00 p.m. to 4 for the older kids.  Go to the www.telluridesoccer.com to download the registration form or just show up to the camp at least 30 minutes early to sign up. The Advocacy Coalition of Telluride has been chosen as Phish’s local non-profit recipient through their Waterwheel Foundation. ACT is hosting a Pre-Phish Anti-Radiation Party at The Bubble Lounge on Monday, August 2 from 6-8 p.m. with free beer and pizza, raffle prizes, music and film. Learn more about the proposed Pinon Ridge Uranium Mill in Paradox Valley. Donate at the door.

There will be a forum on Local Grant Opportunities hosted by local grant funders on Tuesday, August 3 from 9:30-11 a.m. in the Wilkinson Public Library program room. Call April at the Telluride Foundation for more info at 728-8717.
