 Tune-in to KOTO radio this Tuesday evening at 6PM for this week's segment of "Off the Record" featuring local entrepreneur Dahlia Mertens, creator and owner of Mary Jane's Medicinals, who will be discussing her successful business journey in the cannabis industry as well as current trends in the weed business at the local, state and national levels.  That's Tuesday night at 6 PM right here at KOTO.

 There will be a Wellness Fair for Spanish Speakers at the Wilkinson Public Library, Saturday September 29, from 10am – 5pm.  This wellness fair will offer dental cleanings and health screening as well as information and resources promoting health and wellness.

The 3rd Annual Heritage Harvest Festival is a celebration of the West End's heirloom fruit and vegetable growing. To this year's festival, we bring live music with Durango's Six String Dollar Band as well as hard cider and beer. James Thorneycroft will be pressing cider with a beautiful press. There will be an heirloom apple variety display, apple pie contest, heirloom veggie contest, horseshoes, arm wrestling, and more! Fun for the entire family. Don't forget to check out the Paradox Trail on your mountain bike before the festivities begin, it's fantastic. Saturday October 6 from 11-4:30 in Nucla Town Park.

 Orion Magazine and Between the Covers Bookstore present a fundraiser for Southern New Hampshire University's Mountainview MFA Program supporting a scholarship for students writing about social and ecological justice issues, on Tuesday, September 25th, at 7pm, in a private home at Element 52. Featured speaker will be award-winning journalist and indigenous activist Jenni Monet, of Laguna Pueblo. Auction items include a linen-boxed limited edition facsimile of the original manuscript of Edward Abbey's "Desert Solitaire," on this its 50th anniversary of publication. Light fare and refreshments will be served. This annual event is free but RSVP is required, stop by the bookstore for details.

 The Telluride Festival of Cars & Colors happens this week, September 27-30 at various locations around Telluride.  Info at carsandcolors.com

 The Norwood Fall Fireman’s Fair, an event to benefit the Norwood Fire district and EMS, will take place Saturday October 6 from 4-9pm featuring a farm to table dinner, pumpkin patch, horse drawn carriage rides, lawn games, pony rides, music and a cash bar.  Jubilee Stables at Valentine Farm (half a mile north on Lone Cone Road)  Tickets at norwood fire district.org or at the door.
