  • The Ridgway Spirit Festival is coming up October 18-20th, at the 4H/Event Center. The festival will feature keynote speaker, Charles Eisenstein, activist, teacher, speaker and writer who focuses on themes of embracing consciousness, civilization and cultural evolution.   • The 10th Annual BRAvo Auction, benefiting the San Miguel Resource Center and Bosom Buddies, is tonight, 7:30 pm at the Sheridan Bar.

  • The 17TH Annual Ouray County Winter Sports Swap will be held Friday, October 11th, 5-8pm and Saturday the 12th, 9am-1pm, at the Ridgway Elementary School. You will be able to purchase your Telluride Ski Resort season passes as well. If you have gear or clothing to sell, you may drop it off at the Ridgway Elementary School between 11:00-4:00 tomorrow.

  • The 4th Annual Heritage Harvest Festival will take place October 12th, at the Nucla Town Park, 11am-4pm.   • The Telluride Historical Museum invites you to explore the iconic Lone Tree Cemetery in the ambiance and eeriness of lantern light. The lamplight tours will take place Fridays during October; October 11, 18, 25 @ 6 p.m. Meet at Shed in the middle of the cemetery.   • The 5th annual Harvest Celebration, hosted by the Lone Cone Legacy Trust, will be Saturday, October 12th from 5:30-9pm at the Livery in Norwood. Lone Cone Legacy Trust is fundraising to preserve the legacy of Norwood and re-investing in the community. Come enjoy live music from the Joe Spor band, a silent auction, locally sourced food, and beer and wine. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.loneconelegacy.org or at the door.

  • The public is invited to the School Board Candidate Forum on October 28th, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Palm Theatre. Banks Brown (former School Board member), will be moderating. There are 5 candidates running for 3 positions. Candidates are - Len Metheny, Jenni Ward, Adam S. Chambers, Cheryl Carstens Miller and Dylan Brooks. Food and drinks will be offered as well as child care. On Saturday October 12th, there will be a Meet ‘n Greet for School Board candidate Cheryl Carstens Miller at The Phoenix Bean 3-5pm.

  • Don’t forget to vote if you are leaving for the off season.  Ballots will mail October 18th.  You can also pick up a ballot at the Clerk’s Office in the Courthouse with a valid ID.
