  • The Ophir Hill Climb will take place today! Ride or Run. Register on race day at 9am at Ophir Town Hall. Race starts at 10am. There will be an awards party after the race at the playground!

  • Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of the book Braiding Sweetgrass, is Wilkinson Public Library’s One Book, One Canyon (OBOC) author for 2019. There will be book discussions on Tuesday, October 8th at 12:30pm and Wednesday, October 9th, at 5:30pm. Kimmerer will lead a writing workshop on Monday, October 14th, from 1:30 to 3:30 (advance sign up required at telluridelibrary.org), followed by a book talk and signing at 6:00 pm at the library. Copies of Braiding Sweetgrass are available at the library, while supplies last.

  • The Sheridan Arts Foundation will be hosting $1 Community Night Shows in the next year. The first of the series, coproduced with Telluride Theatre, features Emily Scott Robinson and Friends. Saturday, October 19, at 8 p.m., doors at 7 p.m. All tickets are only $1.

  • The Pinhead Institute will host the 34 Pinterns as they present on what they did this summer. Tomorrow, at the Sheridan Opera House, 5:30-6:30pm. This is free and open to all.

  • Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet invites residents from Ouray and San Miguel Counties to meet with his Constituent Advocate, Janet Wolf, who will be hosting listening sessions. The next session will be held October 16th at the Wilkinson Library, 11-1pm. To schedule an appointment, email janet_wolf@bennet.senate.gov.   • The Telluride Jewish Community will hold an Erev Yom Kippur-Kol Nidre service at the Sheridan Opera House, Tuesday, October 8th. On Wednesday, October 9th, there will be a Yom Kippur Spiritual Walk and Discussion at 10:30am- meet at the Bear Creek Bridge.   • Colorado Sierra Club and Sheep Mountain Alliance are hosting a free screening of the film, Reinventing Power, a renewable energy documentary, tomorrow at Jagged Edge. Film starts at 6:30pm.

  • The 10th Annual BRAvo Auction, benefitting the San Miguel Resource Center and Bosom Buddies, is Thursday October 10th 7:30 pm at the Sheridan Bar.

  • Join other bibliophiles at The West End Bistro at The Hotel Telluride, Thursday, October 10th, for Booze and Books, presented by the Wilkinson Library. 5:15-6:30pm.

  • EcoAction Partners will host a Green Business Roundtable, Wednesday October 9th 12:15 - 1:00 pm in the program room at Wilkinson Library. This is free to attend and lunch/refreshments will be provided! Please RSVP to greenbusiness@ecoactionpartners.org.

  • On Saturday October 12th, on Indigenous peoples Day, the award winning Navajo duo Sihasin (SEE-HAW-SIN) returns to Telluride at the Liberty for an evening of music and more. The show is all ages and starts at 7 P.M.
