  • The 10th Annual BRAvo Auction, benefitting the San Miguel Resource Center and Bosom Buddies, is Thursday October 10th 7:30 pm at the Sheridan Bar.

  • On Saturday October 12th, in honor of Indigenous peoples Day, the award winning Navajo duo Sihasin (SEE-HAW-SIN) returns to Telluride at the Liberty for an evening of music and more. The show is all ages and starts at 7 P.M.

  • Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of the book Braiding Sweetgrass, is Wilkinson Public Library’s One Book, One Canyon (OBOC) author for 2019. There will be book discussions today at 12:30pm and Wednesday, October 9th, at 5:30pm. Kimmerer will lead a writing workshop on Monday, October 14th, from 1:30 to 3:30pm (advance sign up required at telluridelibrary.org), followed by a book talk and signing at 6:00 pm at the library. Copies of Braiding Sweetgrass are available at the library, while supplies last.

  • The Ridgway Old West Fest will take place this weekend, October 11-13. The festival will highlight Ridgway’s film, ranching, and railroad heritage, and celebrate Western arts & culture. Go to ridgwaycolorado.com for a full schedule of events.

  • The 4th Annual Heritage Harvest Festival will take place October 12th, at the Nucla Town Park, 11am-4pm.   • EcoAction Partners will host a Green Business Roundtable, tomorrow, 12:15 - 1:00pm in the program room at Wilkinson Library. This is free to attend and lunch/refreshments will be provided! Please RSVP to greenbusiness@ecoactionpartners.org.

  • The Telluride Jewish Community will hold an Erev Yom Kippur-Kol Nidre service at the Sheridan Opera House, tonight, 7pm. On Wednesday, October 9th, there will be a Yom Kippur Spiritual Walk and Discussion at 10:30am- meet at the Bear Creek Bridge.   • The Sheridan Arts Foundation will be hosting $1 Community Night Shows in the next year. The first of the series, coproduced with Telluride Theatre, features Emily Scott Robinson and Friends. Saturday, October 19, at 8 p.m., doors at 7 p.m. All tickets are only $1.

  • Free legal help at the library will be offered tomorrow, 2-5pm! Sign up is required. Call 970-728-4519 to sign up for a 15 minute appointment.

  • The Progressive Women’s Caucus is hosting an election forum Tuesday, October 15th, from 6-8 pm at Rebekah Hall. I twill also be aired live on KOTO. This will be an opportunity to hear about each of the local ballot issues and meet the candidates for Telluride town council.

  • The 5th annual Harvest Celebration, hosted by the Lone Cone Legacy Trust, will be Saturday, October 12th from 5:30-9pm at the Livery in Norwood. Lone Cone Legacy Trust is fundraising to preserve the legacy of Norwood and re-investing in the community. Come enjoy live music from the Joe Spor band, a silent auction, locally sourced food, and beer and wine. Tickets can be purchased on line at www.loneconelegacy.org or at the door.
