  • Thursday, April 25th, The Wilkinson Library, Tri-County Health and Christ Presbyterian Church will host a discussion about making the most of your (finite) life. This is part of the Death Café series, aimed at facilitating honest and frank discussions on death. At Christ Presbyterian Church, 5:30pm.

  • The Town of Telluride is issuing a Spring Flooding Alert. A sudden warm period or heavy rainfall onto the snowpack can cause flooding in town this spring. If you experience bigger puddles than normal during spring runoff, Contact Public Works at (970) 728-8415. If you see water backing up and flooding over the banks of the San Miguel River, Cornet Creek or Butcher Creek, Contact the Marshall’s Department at (970) 728-3818 or (970) 249-9110. If there is a flood event, shelter in place on a second floor. For latest information, sign-up for CodeRED emergency notifications at sanmiguelcountyco.gov/174/Emergency-Management.

  • Please join Telluride Earth Guardians, Pinhead Institute, Ah Haa, Carbon Neutral Coalition, EcoAction Partners, and friends to celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd from 3:30 to 5 pm in Elks Park. A party in Elks Park to celebrate our beautiful planet will follow a march through downtown Telluride! All are welcome!

  • The Palm’s Classic Cinema Series celebrating the films of 1969 present Midnight Cowboy. April 26th at 7pm. Free to the public.

  • Celebrate Earth Day with the Telluride Mountain School at a free community wide, multimedia slide show presentation and book signing with nationally renowned, Colorado Landscape Photographer John Fielder. Monday, April 22 from 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. At the Wilkinson Library. There will be a book signing before and after event (6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.).

  • Registration is open for the Wilkinson’s local chef cooking class. On April 29th, Learn how to make dairy free Palak Paneer with Ashley Berard. 6-8pm.

  • CCAASE is now accepting online applications for calendar dates for 2020. Applications can be found on the Town of Telluride’s website and are due by 5pm on May 10th. Call (970) 728-2059 or email jwontrobski@telluride-co.gov with any questions.

  • It’s Spring cleaning time! Mark your calendars for the following Refuse Disposal Events. On Saturday, May 4th, 9am-3pm at the Norwood Fairgrounds, yard and household refuse will be accepted. On Friday, May 17th, Telluride-County Spring Cleanup will take place at Carhenge, 10am-3pm. Appliance, scrap metal, tires, vehicle batteries and other household and garden refuse will be accepted. Household Electronics will be accepted at both events. Saturday, May 18th, at Carhenge, Hazardous Waste will be accepted. Disposal fees may apply.

  • SMEF, (KOTO’s governing board), will host its monthly meeting this Monday, April 15th in the Telluride Room at the WPL. 5pm. The public is always welcome to attend.
