  • Celebrate Earth Day with the Telluride Mountain School at a free community wide, multimedia slide show presentation and book signing with nationally renowned, Colorado Landscape Photographer John Fielder on Monday, April 22 from 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. At the Wilkinson Library. There will be a book signing before and after event (6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.).

  • Candidates are wanted for 4 open seats on Mountain Village’s Town Council. Send a letter of intent and candidate biographical form (available at the MVTC website) to mvclerk@mtnvillage.org. Applications are due May 5th by 5pm.

  • The Sherbino Theater’s Sherb Talk Series presents Susan Lohr and Stacy McPhail of the Gunnison Ranchland Conservation Legacy. They will speak on private, landowner-driven efforts to place conservation easements on working ranchlands. Tomorrow, April 19. Doors at 7:00 pm, Talk at 7:30 pm.

  • The Wilkinson Library will celebrate Earth Day by cleaning up our town! Meet at the library at 3:30 p.m. to pick up equipment, then head out to pick up trash. At 5:30 p.m., report back to the library for free pizza and awards for Best of Trash! Open to kids in grades 7-12.

  • The Ouray Elks Lodge will host an Easter Preparation Potluck. Friday, April 19th at the Elks Lodge, 6pm. Please bring a dish to share.  Call (970) 626-4239 for more information.

  • Join the Pinhead Institute, Telluride Historical Museum, Bright Futures and many others in their annual celebration of children, “Dia de los Niños.” The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.   • The Town of Telluride is issuing a Spring Flooding Alert. A sudden warm period or heavy rainfall onto the snowpack can cause flooding in town this spring. If you experience bigger puddles than normal during spring runoff, Contact Public Works at (970) 728-8415. If you see water backing up and flooding over the banks of the San Miguel River, Cornet Creek or Butcher Creek, Contact the Marshall’s Department at (970) 728-3818 or (970) 249-9110.
