  • Thursday, April 25th, The Wilkinson Library, Tri-County Health and Christ Presbyterian Church will host a discussion about making the most of your (finite) life. This is part of the Death Café series, aimed at facilitating honest and frank discussions on death. At Christ Presbyterian Church, 5:30pm.

  • Telluride Green Grant applications are available at telluride-co.gov and at ecoactionpartners.org. Applications are due May 17th. Green Grants provide help for the Telluride community in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. 

  • The Annual Summer Teen Jobs Fair takes place Friday, April 26th, 3-6pm at the Wilkinson Library. There will be workshops upstairs from 3-4:30, with topics covering job applications, interview skills and a chance to fine tune and print your resume. From 4-6pm downstairs, local businesses who are offering summer jobs to teens will be on hand to provide information, applications, and network. Teens from anywhere in the region are welcome and encouraged to attend!

  • Its Spring cleaning time! Mark your calendars for the following Refuse Disposal Events. On Saturday, May 4th, 9am-3pm at the Norwood Fairgrounds, yard and household refuse will be accepted. On Friday, May 17th, Telluride-County Spring Cleanup will take place at Carhenge, 10am-3pm. Appliance, scrap metal, tires, vehicle batteries and other household and garden refuse will be accepted. Household Electronics will be accepted at both events. Saturday, May 18th, at Carhenge, Hazardous Waste will be accepted. Disposal fees may apply.

  • Registration is open for the Wilkinson’s local chef cooking class. On Monday, April 29th, learn how to make dairy free Palak Paneer with Ashley Berard. 6-8pm.

  • Talking Gourds Poetry will host Natrualist Kathleen Cain of Denver. April 29th, Talking Gourds will meet at the Meadowlark House in Norwood, 6:30pm. On Tuesday, April 30th, Talking Gourds will meet at Telluride Arts HQ at 6pm. The Wilkinson Public Library will also host Cain at a free Walk ‘n Talk, Wednesday May 1st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This month’s theme is trees/cottonwoods.

  • Tickets are available for the Young People’s Theater’s production of the Music Man. Performances take place May 3rd-5th, 6pm nightly. Head to Sheridanoperahouse.com for tickets and more information.

  • It’s warming up and black bears are awakening. Make sure your polycart complies with the Town of Tellurides requirements. Make sure both latches work, that the lid is intact, there are no cracks in the body and the strap is secure. If your polycart needs stenciling, repair or upgrades, call 970-728-2177. A fed bear is a dead bear.

  • The Telluride Foundation and the Wilkinson Public Library present, “Digging into Demographics,” a workshop focused on helping non-profits tell their story with better statistical information.   • The Palm’s Classic Cinema Series celebrating the films of 1969 present Midnight Cowboy. Tomorrow, April 25th at 7pm. Free to the public.
