  • The Annual Summer Teen Jobs Fair takes place today, April 26th, 3-6pm at the Wilkinson Library. There will be workshops upstairs from 3-4:30, with topics covering job applications, interview skills and a chance to fine tune and print your resume. From 4-6pm downstairs, local businesses who are offering summer jobs to teens will be on hand to provide information, applications, and network. Teens from anywhere in the region are welcome and encouraged to attend!

  • Join the Pinhead Institute, Telluride Historical Museum, Bright Futures and many others in their annual celebration of children, “Dia de los Niños.” The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.   • Attention San Miguel County deed restricted housing owners: the SMRHA will begin sending compliance letters now through Summer 2019. Watch your email and P.O. Box for a questionnaire to update your property file. More info available at

  • Registration is open for the Wilkinson’s local chef cooking class. On April 29th, Learn how to make dairy free Palak Paneer with Ashley Berard. 6-8pm.

  • CCAASE is now accepting online applications for calendar dates for 2020. Applications can be found on the Town of Telluride’s website and are due by 5pm on May 10th. Call (970) 728-2059 or email with any questions.

  • Tickets are available for the Young People’s Theater’s production of the Music Man. Performances take place May 3rd-5th, 6pm nightly. Head to for tickets and more information.

  • Talking Gourds Poetry will host Naturalist Kathleen Cain of Denver. April 29th, Talking Gourds will meet at the Meadowlark House in Norwood, 6:30pm. On Tuesday, April 30th, Talking Gourds will meet at Telluride Arts HQ at 6pm. The Wilkinson Public Library will also host Cain at a free Walk ‘n Talk, Wednesday May 1st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This month’s theme is trees/cottonwoods.

  • It’s warming up and black bears are awakening. Make sure your polycart complies with the Town of Tellurides requirements. Make sure both latches work, that the lid is intact, there are no cracks in the body and the strap is secure. If your polycart needs stenciling, repair or upgrades, call 970-728-2177. A fed bear is a dead bear.

  • The Grand Opening of Telluride’s Youth Hangout is Saturday, April 27, 5-9pm. Come support Telluride’s youth with food, games and fun. Ribbon Cutting at 5:30pm. At the Telluride Ski & Snowboard Club, 300 Mahoney Dr.

  • SMPA is scheduling 3 electrical equipment upgrade projects during the first 2 weeks of May. This work requires multiple power outages. The first outage is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1st, 8:30am-12:30pm and will affect the south side of Colorado Ave. and the north and south sides of Pacific Ave. between Oak and Aspen. The second outage will be May 7th, 8:30am-5:30pm and will effect the south side of Colorado Ave and the north side of Pacific, between Fir and Pine St. The final outage is scheduled for May 8th, 8:30am-12:30pm. This will affect the north side of Colorado between S. Oak and S. Fir St. More information can be found at
