  • There will be a Mother's Day Brunch at the Telluride Elks Lodge, today, 11am to 1pm. Mothers eat free!

  • Telluride Green Grant applications are available at telluride-co.gov and at ecoactionpartners.org. Applications are due May 17th. Green Grants provide help for the Telluride community in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. 

  • Tri-County Health Network will host 2 talks on Suicide Prevention, Aftermath and Healing. Kristina Daniel, LPC, ADS, will be speaking about suicide in our communities, how to help our communities heal and how to recognize the warning signs and help others.  She will also provide information and offer a free session of Auricular Acudetox, which has been shown to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, and reduce depressive symptoms.  Join TCH Network and Daniel at the Norwood Community Center on May 13th, 6-8:15pm and at the Ah Haa School on May 14th, 11:00am-1:30pm.

  • SMRHA is hosting Lottery Information Discussions. Learn about the Town of Telluride’s Lottery Process. There will be a Spanish Interpreter at Every Meeting. The first meeting is Monday, May 13th, 5-6pm in the Telluride Room at the WPL.

  • The public is invited to a free screening of “Hippie Family Values,” an intimate chronicle of hippie elders and their adult children, filmed over a 10-year period at a communal ranch in New Mexico.  The documentary will be followed by discussion with filmmaker Beverly Seckinger and film participants Dulcie Clarkson Ford, Charris Ford, and Kate Brown. Wednesday, May 15th at 6:00 pm, at the WPL.

  • It’s warming up and black bears are awakening. Make sure your polycart complies with the Town of Tellurides requirements. Make sure both latches work, that the lid is intact, there are no cracks in the body and the strap is secure. If your polycart needs stenciling, repair or upgrades, call 970-728-2177. A fed bear is a dead bear.

  • Please join the Progressive Women’s Caucus tomorrow at 5:30 pm at the Telluride Library’s Program Room for “The Future is Female--An Evening of PWC Plotting and Scheming.” Special Guest Erika Zavaleta (Zah-vah-LET-uh) will discuss: Women, Conversation and Environmental Justice.

  • The Regional Spring Clean-up in Telluride is just around the corner! Located at the Carhenge parking lot on May 17th and 18th. General spring clean-up will be offered May 17th, 10am – 4pm, and May 18th,  9am – 4pm. Electronics will be accepted May 17th, 12pm – 4pm and May 18th, 9am – 1pm. Household hazardous waste disposal will be accepted May 18th 9am – 1pm ONLY.
