  • Age-specific Parenting Workshops will be offered throughout the Month of May. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5:30-7pm. This week’s sessions will discuss Mental Health.   • Spanish Happy Hour @ Esperanza's is today at 5:00 pm. Practice Spanish with Jill and Gloria from the library and other Spanish speakers from the community. All levels are welcome!

  • The Telluride Foundation’s Sustainability Initiative will facilitate a community discussion on sustainability and food, tonight at the Black Box Theater, 5:30-7:30pm. There will be a film screening of “How We Grow,” followed by a panel discussion featuring Tri-County Health, Vicki’s Fresh Food Movement, the Fresh Food Hub of Norwood, and more.

  • The Regional Spring Clean-up in Telluride begins tomorrow! Located at the Carhenge parking lot. General spring clean-up will be offered May 17th, 10am – 4pm, and May 18th,  9am – 4pm. Household and garden refuse, scrap metal and appliances, tires and more will be accepted. Electronics will be accepted May 17th, 12pm – 4pm and May 18th, 9am – 1pm. Accepting office electronics and other miscellaneous equipment. Household hazardous waste disposal will be accepted May 18th, 9am – 1pm ONLY. Paints and solvents, household batteries, motor oil and vehicle fluids, fluorescent bulbs and ballasts, expired medications for pets and humans will be accepted.   • Registration is open for Tri County Health’s Upcoming courses on Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid. On May 21st, the “Youth Mental Health First Aid,” designed for adults who regularly interact with or work with youth, will meet at the Telluride Fire Station, 9am-5pm. On Friday, May 31st, “Adult Mental Health Fist Aid” will meet at the Ah Haa School, 9am-5pm. The Adult class provides the skills to help your adult friends, family members and coworkers.   • Telluride Adaptive Sports Program is looking for volunteers for the summer season. As a non-profit, we offer outdoor recreation to individuals living with disabilities.   • Tuesday, May 21st, the Wilkinson Library will continue its series “Tackling Tough Topics,” with a discussion on race and the book, White Fragility. Discussion begins at 5:30pm.

  • Telluride Green Grant applications are available at telluride-co.gov and at ecoactionpartners.org. The deadline for applications is tomorrow, May 17th. Green Grants provide help for the Telluride community in reducing its greenhouse gas emissions.
