  • The next SMEF meeting will be Monday, June 24th, in the WPL at 5pm, in the Telluride Room. The public is always welcome!

  • It’s warming up and black bears are awakening. Make sure your polycart complies with the Town of Tellurides requirements. Make sure both latches work, that the lid is intact, there are no cracks in the body and the strap is secure. If your polycart needs stenciling, repair or upgrades, call 970-728-2177. A fed bear is a dead bear.

  • The 12th annual Ridgway River Fest is Saturday, June 29th. More info available at ridgwayriverfest.org.

  • The Annual Bike Auction will take place Friday, June 28th at 1pm. Located at the skate park on the corner of Willow and Pacific, viewing starts at 11am.

  • The Town of Telluride is issuing a Spring Flooding Alert. A sudden warm period or heavy rainfall onto the snowpack can cause flooding in town this spring. If you experience bigger puddles than normal during spring runoff, Contact Public Works at (970) 728-8415. If you see water backing up and flooding over the banks of the San Miguel River, Cornet Creek or Butcher Creek, Contact the Marshall’s Department at (970) 728-3818 or (970) 249-9110. If there is a flood event, shelter in place on a second floor. For latest information, sign-up for CodeRED emergency notifications at sanmiguelcountyco.gov/174/Emergency-Management.

  • The next Town Talk series, hosted by the Telluride Science Research Center, will discuss “What Is a Molecule and What Can You Do With It?” Tuesday, June 25th at 6:30pm, at the Telluride Conference Center.

  • The Wilkinson Library is holding a photo contest for the new library card. Submit your photo of the Telluride region by June 30th, to lcolbert@telluridelibrary.org, with the subject PHOTO CONTEST and the Age Category- KIDS (up to age 13) and ADULT (age 14+).

  • San Miguel County needs your input! All Placerville and Down Valley homeowners will receive a survey in the mail soon, concerning water and sewer services. Please fill out and return the survey by July 3rd. More information available at sanmiguelcountyco.gov.
