  • KOTO’s Annual Duck Race is coming up on August 2nd! We will be selling ducks at the community table on Main St. (on the corner of Pine and Colorado). Support local radio and win great prizes that have been donated by local businesses!

  • The Town of Mountain Village invites Village Court Apartments (VCA) residents and the Mountain Village community to help clean up the grounds of VCA. Tomorrow, 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

  • The CSU Extension Office is offering a Native Plant Field Trip- featuring subalpine meadow and forest plants at 10,000ft. Thursday August, 8th, 9am-4pm. Registration for the trip ends Tuesday August 6th. Email maryw@sanmiguelcountyco.gov or call 970.327.4393 to register.

  • Mountainfilm on Tour is coming to Ridgway on August 2nd and 3rd with a special screening featuring some of the best-loved short films from the Mountainfilm festival in Hartwell Park. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and treats of your own. The events are free and open to the public, Films start at 8:30pm! On Saturday, the dZi (Z) Foundation will host a picnic, kicking off in the park at 5 p.m.

  • Rachel Laven performs at the Sheridan SHOW Bar tonight, 7pm.

  • The Sunset Concert Series presents mariachi band, Flor de Toloache, tonight in Mountain Village, 6-8pm. KOTO will be broadcasting the show!

  • The San Miguel Housing Authority’s housing lottery for Longwill16 and Silver Jack is now open. It closes Thursday, August 29th at noon. For guidelines and an application, visit smhra.org/lotteryinfo or stop by the SMRHA Office at 820 Black Bear Rd. #G17. Applications are accepted by appointment only.

  • There will be a special meeting of the KOTO board of directors to discuss personnel matters and contracts on Friday, August 2nd, at 11am in the Wilkinson Library.

  • The Sheridan Opera House is bringing Kiss the Sky, the Jimi Hendrix Re-Experience and Just Like Janis, a Tribute to Janis Joplin, to Telluride in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock! Kiss the Sky performs tomorrow, August 1st, 9pm. Just Like Janis will perform Friday, August 2 at 9 p.m.

  • Join the Trust for Community Housing, the Downlow and Telluride Theatre for a night of storytelling, a parade, capped off with a dance party, featuring the Telluride Gold Kings and DJ Blakk Ceasar, at the Liberty on this Friday. Meet in Town Park for a Downlow around the theme of “This Must Be The Place,” at 7pm. Join a parade at 8:30pm as it winds its way to the Liberty for music and dancing. Costumes encouraged. This is a free event but all proceeds/donations will go to TCH’s programs like Housing Opportunity Fund, which provides help for locals to secure housing through purchase or rental.

  • On Saturday, August 3rd, join the museum for the 16th annual, Feasting on History.  This year's brunch will be hosted by Pete and Shari Mitchell at their home in Mountain Village, beginning at 11am. This year's special guest speakers will be the women of the Mahoney family, who will share family history and stories of the past.  Tickets for brunch can be purchased by calling the Museum at (970) 728-3344.
