  • Celebrations for Independence Day will take place all day! The parade will begin at 11am followed by the firefighters BBQ in Town Park, noon-4pm. The Telluride Historical Museum will be offering root beer floats and free entry to the museum 12:30-2:30pm. Fireworks from Town Park will take place at dark.

  • The Sunset Concert Series presents a Red White & Blues Celebration featuring Local Bands and DJ Kat V. Tonight, 6-8pm.

  • Movies Under the Stars presents the Sandlot, tonight and Lemony Snicket, Saturday, July 6th. Movies begin at 8:45 p.m. in the Reflection Plaza.

  • Telluride Theater’s, Midsummer Night’s Gala is Saturday, July 6th, at 6pm, at a secret location. Tickets available at telluridetheater.org.

  • The Artists of Rico will be showing their work the week of July 4th at the Mercantile building on Main Street, in Rico. All are welcome to attend. The show will be open today 10am-6pm and Friday 12-6pm with the possibility of some hours on Saturday and Sunday.

  • Between the Covers and the Telluride Historical Museum will celebrate the 50th anniversary release of the book, Tomboy Bride, with refreshments, readings, and special guests. Stop by the Museum tomorrow at 3pm to meet Tomboy Brides’ grandson, Rob Walton, as well as award-winning Colorado Author Pam Houston, who wrote the foreword. This is a free event and all are welcome!

  • Original Thinkers will screen a series of short films with big ideas, Sunday July 7th, at the Nugget Theater. Films begin at 8pm. There will be a post-screening gathering at Ghost Town, where the public is invited to partake in finger foods, cocktails and conversation. This is a free event.

  • Own a piece of history! KOTO is auctioning a one-of-a-kind guitar, crafted from a piece of the original Fred Shellman Memorial Stage. The KOTOcaster is a semi hollow body, single pickup electric guitar, made from 30-year-old historic pine.   • The Telluride Jewish Community invites the public to attend a series of talks from Rabbi Terry Bookman. All sessions will be held at 15 Stonegate Drive, Mountain Village from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm .  The course is FREE.  Please bring a bottle of wine and/or a favorite cheese to share. Session One, The Ancient World of the Bible, will take place July 9th. RSVP to tuvyah@eitzah.org.

  • Enjoy a walking tour of Telluride’s Built Environment and Architecture, tomorrow. Meet at the Historical Museum at 11am.

  • The Annual Buccaneer’s Ball will take place at the Elks Lodge this Saturday, 7pm-midnight, with proceeds going to the Telluride Elks Scholarship Fund. Dress like a pirate and enjoy live music from the Telluride Gold Kings, with opener Looty Booty.

  • The West End Creative Arts Program invites the public to their performance of the full-length musical, EIGHT DAYS! Two chances to see the show tomorrow: 3:00PM AND 5:00PM at the Livery in Norwood. Tickets are donation-based and the show is kid-friendly.

  • This Friday, July 5th, the summer series of Improve Your Vision starts again at Wilkinson Public Library. Meet instructor Jolana Vanek every Friday through September at 11:15am to 12:15pm. Dropping in, and leaving early is fine.
