  • Original Thinkers will screen a series of short films with big ideas, tomorrow night, at the Nugget Theater. Films begin at 8pm. There will be a post-screening gathering at Ghost Town, where the public is invited to partake in finger foods, cocktails and conversation. This is a free event.

  • Movies Under the Stars presents Lemony Snicket, tonight. Movie begins at 8:45 p.m. in the Reflection Plaza.

  • Join Story Time on Tour this morning at the Placerville School House, 11am.

  • The Summer Arts Bazaar will take place today and tomorrow at the Transfer Warehouse, 11am-5pm.

  • Telluride Theater’s Midsummer Night’s Gala is tonight, 6pm, at a secret location. Tickets available at telluridetheater.org.

  • The Annual Buccaneer’s Ball will take place at the Elks Lodge tonight, 7pm-midnight, with proceeds going to the Telluride Elks Scholarship Fund. Dress like a pirate and enjoy live music from the Telluride Gold Kings, with opener Looty Booty.

  • The Telluride Science Research Center’s Town Talks continues Tuesday, July 9th, with a conversation on “Using Nature’s Blueprint to Build a Sustainable Energy Future.” At the Telluride Conference Center, 6:30pm.

  • The community is invited to sip and savor over 30 rose wines and enjoy hors d’oeuvres to benefit breast cancer research and the Telluride Medical Center at the P.I.N.K. Patio Party. Saturday, July 27th, 3-5pm. at Tomboy Tavern. For more information visit tellmed.org.

  • Own a piece of history! KOTO is auctioning a one-of-a-kind guitar, crafted from a piece of the original Fred Shellman Memorial Stage. The KOTOcaster is a semi hollow body, single pickup electric guitar, made from 30-year-old historic pine.   • The Wilkinson Library’s Annual Pie Contest is Monday, July 8th. Drop off your homemade pie, along with the recipe, from 5-6pm on the Library's back patio on the day of the competition. Judging will begin promptly at 6:15pm. Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, 2nd place, 3rd place, Most Creative and People's Choice at 7pm.

  • The Sherbino Theater will screen Anthill Film’s mountain bike movie, Return to the Earth tonight, 8pm.
