  • Movies Under the Stars presents Land Before Time tonight. Movies begin at 8:30 p.m. in the Reflection Plaza.

  • The Telluride Historical Museum will be screening Ken Burns' documentary, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, Episode 5, The Rising Road on Sunday, August 25 at the Michael D. Palm Theatre. Ken Burns will be in attendance to introduce the film, entertain a Q&A, and participate in a book and DVD signing after.   • On July 20th, Joanne and Roudy Roudebush's Barn exploded in flames.  It contained a lifetime of cowboy paraphernalia and every piece of tack (saddles and bridles), collected over the course of his 40 years of cowboyisms. An account is set up at Alpine Bank and a GoFundMe has been set up at www.gofundme.com/f/roudy039s-barn-raising. A community gathering is in the works. Any donations of bridles, saddles, blankets, pads, bits and reins would be graciously accepted at that gathering or by appointment in Telluride or Norwood.   • The Placerville Volunteer Fire Department invites you to their annual picnic in Placerville Park today! The BBQ begins at noon followed by a raffle.

  • Friday, August 16th, the Telluride Yoga Center, invites you to a free public talk on Kriya yoga. The speaker will be a monk from the Swami order who will discuss the ancient teachings of Kriya yoga meditation, as discussed in the book, The Autobiography of a Yogi.   • The Palm Telluride Summer Jazz Series continues on August 14th with New Standards fronted by the multi talented composer and bandleader Peter John Stoltzman. His latest project New Standards features the Natalie Cressman, of the Trey Anastasio Band.
