  • The Sunset Concert Series’ final concert of the summer is tonight in Mountain Village, 6-8pm. Mo Lawda and the Humble w/special guests the Mammoths will be performing.  KOTO will be broadcasting the show!

  • The Norwood Board of Trustees will meet tonight at 7pm to Consider Temporary Moratorium on Formula Business. At the Community Center.

  • The San Miguel Housing Authority’s housing lottery for Longwill16 and Silver Jack is now open. It closes Thursday, August 29th at noon. For guidelines and an application, visit smhra.org/lotteryinfo or stop by the SMRHA Office at 820 Black Bear Rd. #G17. Applications are accepted by appointment only. There will be a site walk of Longwill 16 tomorrow at 5pm. Please meet in the Longwill parking lot. There will be a site walk of Silver Jack tomorrow, 5pm. Meet in front of the WPL.

  • The Telluride Yoga Center, invites you to a free public talk on Kriya yoga, Friday, August 16th. A monk, from the Swami order, will discuss the ancient teachings of Kriya yoga meditation, as discussed in the book, The Autobiography of a Yogi. On Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18, join the Yoga Center for initiations and technique training of this long held practice. For more info, call Jason at 970 729 0045.

  • The Palm Telluride Summer Jazz Series continues tonight with New Standards fronted by the multi talented composer and bandleader Peter John Stoltzman. His latest project New Standards features the Natalie Cressman, of the Trey Anastasio Band.

  • On July 20th, Joanne and Roudy Roudebush's Barn exploded in flames.  It contained a lifetime of cowboy paraphernalia and every piece of tack (saddles and bridles), collected over the course of his 40 years of cowboyisms. An account is set up at Alpine Bank and a GoFundMe has been set up at www.gofundme.com/f/roudy039s-barn-raising. A community gathering is in the works. Any donations of bridles, saddles, blankets, pads, bits and reins would be graciously accepted at that gathering or by appointment in Telluride or Norwood.   • The San Miguel Sheriffs Office will host a National Weather Service (NWS) weather spotter training Saturday August 17 from 12pm-2pm. The training will be at the Telluride Fire station, in the meeting room upstairs.

  • Winter 2019/2020 Vending Applications for the Town of Telluride are due August 15th. Application forms are avaialbel at www.telluride-co.gov, at Town Hall (135 W. Columbia Ave. ) or by calling 970-728-2157.

  • The CSU Extension Office is offering a Greenhouse Management Class on Saturday, August 24th 9:30 to noon at the Placerville Schoolhouse for the class. Please call 970-327-4393 to reserve your spot.

  • There will be a community Back to School Night at the Wilkinson Library, Thursday, August 15th. 5:30-7pm.

  • KOTO’s Summer Fundraising starts this Friday, August 16th! Tune in as our own Al Dean “gets by with a little help from his friends.” KOTO is offering some great premiums during Guest DJ Day. A $50 donation will get you a “Stealie” t-shirt or a KOTO hat. A $100 donation will get you a t-shirt AND a hat!
