  • The Telluride Historical Museum will be screening Ken Burns' documentary, The Roosevelts: An Intimate History, Episode 5, The Rising Road on Sunday, August 25 at the Michael D. Palm Theatre. Ken Burns will be in attendance to introduce the film, entertain a Q&A, and participate in a book and DVD signing after.   • The Town of Telluride is asking the public to be aware of Monsoonal Flooding of Cornet Creek. Keep an eye on the creek and how it is flowing. Prolonged wet weather and localized heavy rainfall can trigger debris flow and flooding. If there is a flooding event, shelter in place on a second floor if possible.   • The San Miguel Housing Authority’s housing lottery for Longwill16 and Silver Jack is now open. It closes Thursday, August 29th at noon.   • The Palm’s Classic Film Series continues August 23rd with Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing.” Free admission, more info at tellurideplam.com.

  • Join the Town of Mountain Village’s Green Team for its annual Community Clean Up Day on Saturday, Aug. 24th. This year’s Clean Up will be based in Sunset Plaza. Registration is 9:30-10 a.m. to sign up for locations and receive trash bags to fill. Clean Up will take place from 10 a.m. to noon and there will be an after party from noon to 2 p.m. with music, games and food and drinks. There will be a raffle and prizes for best trash finds and trashbags will be provided. Please bring gloves and your re-usable cups and plates.
