  • The San Miguel Housing Authority’s housing lottery for Longwill16 and Silver Jack closes today at noon. Good luck to everyone that entered!

  • Tri-County Health, the San Miguel resource Center and One-to-One Mentoring are offering a free Caring for LGBTQ Youth training today, 3:30-5pm, at the Ah Haa School. Learn about language competency, risk factors, and how to be a stronger ally for those who identify as LGBTQ from Jennifer Stucka-Benally, LCSW from the Four Corners Rainbow Youth Center.   • Rocky Mountain Natural Gas will begin maintenance repairs on existing 6-inch natural gas pipeline along the portion of the Galloping Goose Trail located on Lawson Hills Open Space Lands between the San Miguel River and the Lawson Hill PUD. Rock mitigation work is scheduled to start September 2 with the pipeline replacement work starting immediately after. Work will be conducted between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For safety reasons, this portion of the GGT will be closed to general public use until repairs are completed, on or before October 4th.   • The Center for Mental Health Telluride invites the public to a community open house to tour the new behavioral health location in Telluride and meet their local staff. Today, 1-3 p.m at 238 E.   • The Town of Telluride’s Commission for Community Assistance, Arts and Special Events (CCAASE), is accepting applications for 2020 funding. Grant guidelines and applications are available at https://telluride.gosmart.org/. All grant applications are due by midnight, September 23rd. There will be a Mandatory Grant Forum for all new applicants which have not applied in the past two years on Wednesday, September 4, at noon in Rebekah Hall. This meeting is also highly recommended for new grant writers and/or staff, as the application process has changed since the last grant cycle.

  • SMART, the San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation, will be holding community open houses throughout the region in late August and early September to discuss its Strategic Operating Plan project and potential service changes. The sessions will be held on September 3rd in Telluride, August 29th in Placerville, September 4th in Norwood, and September 5th in Rico. The focus of these meetings will be to go over the draft preferred service plan from the Strategic Operating Plan and garner public feedback.
