  • Movies Under the Stars presents Who Framed Roger Rabbit, tonight. Movies begin at 8:45 p.m. in the Reflection Plaza

  • Today is the 8th annual SKATE FOR NATE memorial skate comp! Come to the Town Park skate park at 11am and enjoy some amazing skateboarding and an overall amazing day with a great group of skaters and spectators. If you’d like to skate in the event please do! All ages welcome, beginner/intermediate advanced divisions available and a women’s division.

  • Mudd Butts Mystery Theatre Presents: The Arabian Nights: A Nod to Scheherazade, (Sha-her-a-zad). Tonight, at 5:30pm at the Palm Theatre.

  • Mountainfilm on Tour is coming to Ridgway tonight with a special screening featuring some of the best-loved short films from the festival. The events are free and open to the public! In Hartwell Park. Films begin at 8:30pm.  The dZi (Z) Foundation will host a picnic today in the park at 5 p.m.

  • True North’s College & Career Conference will take place Saturday August 17th 10-am-5pm. This conference is for all high school students, parents, educators and young adults seeking support and information on college and post-high school opportunities.   • The Mountain Village Police Department and Village Court Apartments are hosting the eighth annual National Night Out Tuesday, August 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. The entire community is invited to join police and fire department teams at the Village Court Apartments (415 Mountain Village Blvd.) for a free BBQ, ice cream social and more!  For more event information, contact the Mountain Village Police Department at 970.728.9281.

  • The CSU Extension Office is offering a Native Plant Field Trip- featuring subalpine meadow and forest plants at 10,000ft. Thursday August, 8th, 9am-4pm. Registration for the trip ends Tuesday August 6th. Email maryw@sanmiguelcountyco.gov or call 970.327.4393 to register.

  • The Telluride Dance Collective is holding open auditions for the 3rd Annual Fall Showcase, Mass Movement. Please attend one audition: either Sunday, August 4, 6:30-8pm OR Monday, August 5, 7:30-9pm at Studio 145 at the Palm Theatre. There will not be callbacks. Dancers must attend the full 90min.   • The San Miguel Housing Authority’s housing lottery for Longwill16 and Silver Jack is now open. It closes Thursday, August 29th at noon. For guidelines and an application, visit smhra.org/lotteryinfo or stop by the SMRHA Office at 820 Black Bear Rd. #G17. Applications are accepted by appointment only. There will be a two-hour site walk of Longwill 16 to show housing floor plans, amenities, and answer questions. Tuesday, August 6th at 5 PM Meet in the Longwill 16 Parking Lot. Please meet on time.

  • County Road K69- Bridal Veil- will be closed to all traffic (foot, bicycles and motor vehicles) August 5th – August 8th, 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Road crews will be rebuilding roadway and building retaining walls. There will be large rocks being moved high above the valley that have the potential of rolling down into the valley. Please respect this closure for your own safety.
