  • The CSU Extension Office is offering a Native Plant Field Trip- featuring subalpine meadow and forest plants at 10,000ft. Thursday August, 8th, 9am-4pm. Registration for the trip ends Tuesday August 6th. Email or call 970.327.4393 to register.

  • The Mountain Village Police Department and Village Court Apartments are hosting the eighth annual National Night Out Tuesday, August 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. The entire community is invited to join police and fire department teams at the Village Court Apartments (415 Mountain Village Blvd.) for a free BBQ, ice cream social, and more.  For more event information, contact the Mountain Village Police Department at 970.728.9281.

  • The Telluride Dance Collective is holding open auditions for the 3rd Annual Fall Showcase, Mass Movement. Dancers of all experience levels, styles, backgrounds, and disciplines are encouraged to participate! Please attend one audition: either today, 6:30-8pm OR Monday, August 5, 7:30-9pm. The performances will take place on Wednesday September 18 and Thursday September 19. Auditions will be held in Studio 145 at the Palm Theatre (located at the far east end of the Palm Lobby).   • One to One Youth Mentoring’s 10th Annual Top Chef and Taste of Telluride Competition takes place Thursday, August 8th, 5:30-9pm at the Peaks Resort. Tickets available at or call 970-728-0885.

  • The Palm Telluride Summer Jazz Series continues on August 14th with New Standards fronted by the multi talented composer and bandleader Peter John Stoltzman. His latest project New Standards features the Natalie Cressman, of the Trey Anastasio Band.

  • The Town of Telluride is asking the public to be aware of Monsoonal Flooding of Cornet Creek. Keep an eye on the creek and how it is flowing. Prolonged wet weather and localized heavy rainfall can trigger debris flow and flooding. If there is a flooding event, shelter in place on a second floor if possible.   • County Road K69- Bridal Veil- will be closed to all traffic (foot, bicycles and motor vehicles) August 5th – August 8th, 5:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Road crews will be rebuilding roadway and building retaining walls. There will be large rocks being moved high above the valley that have the potential of rolling down into the valley. Please respect this closure for your own safety.   • In celebration of Colorado Day, and the 143rd birthday of the state, Colorado Parks and Wildlife offers free entry to all 41 state parks on Monday, August 5. All other park fees, including camping reservations and fishing licenses, remain in effect on August 5.
