  • Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance invites the public to a sneak peek of Artist in Residence Lanny Wagner's "Capturing the Canyons" on Saturday, August 24, from 5-8 p.m. at Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum, 27501 Hwy 184, Dolores, CO 81323. This fundraising event will also feature appetizers, wine and beer, Americana music by Bentley Monk, and a silent auction showcasing local artwork and products such as Alpacka raft, Osprey backpacks, winter opportunities at Purgatory and more!   • The San Miguel Sheriffs Office will host a National Weather Service (NWS) weather spotter training Saturday August 17 from 12pm-2pm. The training will be at the Telluride Fire station, in the meeting room upstairs.

  • Mountain Village will sponsor a Community Clean Up Day, August 24th, in the Sunset Plaza area. Registration will be 9:30-10:30am, clean-up will be 10am to noon with an after party, noon to 2pm. There will be a raffle and prizes for the best trash find. Trash bags will be provided.
