  • The Telluride Mountain Club’s Summer Sessions: Intro to Mountain Running takes place today, 5:30pm in Town Park. Join us to learn what mountain running is all about and how it differs from road and trail running. 5:30 – 6:00 pm will cover the basics followed  by a quick Q&A, then an uphill and downhill running technique overview on Bear Creek Trail.

  • Telluride Adaptive Sports Program’s 21st Annual Bob Miller Memorial Golf Classic takes place Thursday, September 12th. Register and find out more at tellurideadaptivesports.org.

  • Free legal help at the library will be available today, 2-5pm. Sign up is required. Call 970-728-4519 to sign up for a 15 minute appointment.

  • Telluride Arts is accepting submissions through Tuesday, September 17 for their unique community exhibit, "An Exhibition of Broken/Mended Parts" on display October - November 2019 at the Telluride Arts HQ Gallery. Email full-sized x-ray files and the name to be credited to molly@telluridearts.org, along with any accompanying writings or artifacts. Entries can be anonymous, if preferred. This is free and open to anyone of any age.

  • Join the Buffalo Field Campaign at the Wilkinson Library tonight at 6pm, for a night of activism with music, storytelling and videos. The Buffalo Filed Campaign have spent 22 years raising awareness of the plight of the wild buffalo. Find out more at buffalofieldcampaign.org.

  • Join other bibliophiles at The West End Bistro at The Hotel Telluride tomorrow, 5:15-6:15pm, to discuss what books you are reading, have read, or would like to read while sipping on libations.

  • Friends of the Wilkinson Library Book Sale will take place September 20th-22nd, 10am – 6pm. On the 19th is the pre-sale for members and volunteers, 4-6:00 PM.

  • September is Suicide Prevention Month. The Wilkinson Library will host a free screening of The S Word, a documentary about suicide and the silence that surrounds it, Monday, September 23rd, 6pm. Other Suicide Prevention Month Events include a SAFEtalk Suicide Prevention Training at Norwood Public Library, Monday, Sept. 16th 6-9pm and September 17th, 11am-2pm at the Ah Haa School  - sign up at https://tchnetwork.org/eventreg/. On Tuesday, Sept. 24th The S Word will screen at the Norwood Public Library, 6-8pm. On Sunday, September 29 join the community for the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. Meet in Telluride Town Park at 9:00am.

  • Talking Gourds Poetry Club will meet Tuesday, September 17th at 6:00 pm @ Telluride Arts HQ. The first autumn Poetry Club features Mary Oishi. Oishi is a Japanese American poet and public radio professional who was raised by the KKK. Her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, poetry journals, newspapers, and digital publications. Everyone is welcome!

  • The  KOTO Citizens Advisory Board will meet Thursday September 12th at 5pm in the lobby of Hotel Telluride.  The board meets quarterly to discuss programming on KOTO. The public is welcome.
