  • Registration is now open for "Presentation & Performance," a 2-day intensive with writer Craig Childs and actor and theater teacher Colin Sullivan at Million Miles Away Writing Workshops & Retreats in Norwood on September 28th and 29th.   • The Telluride Choral Society invites you to join them for Wintersing 2019, “Light of the Season!” Student choirs will begin to meet Monday September 30th and Tuesday, October 1st.  The adult Chorale, for all singers, starts Wednesday, Oct. 2nd.   • Telluride Dance Collective’s Mass Movement Show takes place at the Palm Theater Wednesday, September 18th, and Thursday September 19th, 7:30pm. To buy tickets, head to telluridepalm.com.

  • Be sure to stop in and browse the Rock and Roll Photo Party at the Last Dollar Saloon, Saturday September 14th. Photographer, G. Douglas Seitsinger will be there, noon-7pm, displaying vintage photographs of rock and roll and blues musicians. More information available at eyebombphotography.com.

  • The second Original Thinkers festival is this October 3-6. We are looking for volunteers to donate 8 hours of their time in exchange for a weekend pass. Jobs include: Hospitality, Theatre Staff/Operations, Special Events, Food Service, Bartending, Office Support, Rigging/Set-up.   • The 10th Annual BRAvo Auction, benefitting the San Miguel Resource Center and Bosom Buddies, is Thursday October 10th 7:30 pm at the Sheridan Bar. Stop by the Ah Haa School to pick up a bra to decorate. Deadline for bra submission is October 2nd.

  • Talking Gourds Poetry Club will meet Tuesday, September 17th at 6:00 pm @ Telluride Arts HQ. The first autumn Poetry Club features Mary Oishi. Oishi is a Japanese American poet and public radio professional who was raised by the KKK. Her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, poetry journals, newspapers, and digital publications. Everyone is welcome!

  • September is Suicide Prevention Month. The Wilkinson Library will host a free screening of The S Word, a documentary about suicide and the silence that surrounds it, Monday, September 23rd, 6pm. Other Suicide Prevention Month Events include a SAFEtalk Suicide Prevention Training at Norwood Public Library, Monday, Sept. 16th 6-9pm and September 17th, 11am-2pm at the Ah Haa School  - sign up at https://tchnetwork.org/eventreg/. On Tuesday, Sept. 24th The S Word will screen at the Norwood Public Library, 6-8pm. On Sunday, September 29 join the community for the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. Meet in Telluride Town Park at 9:00am.

  • Please join Sheep Mountain Alliance and local band Birds of Play for a fall Valley Floor CleanSUP on Monday, September 16th, from 12-4 pm.  Please sign up on the Sheep Mountain Alliance Facebook page.  At this FREE event, we will float down the river where we can, and walk the waterway as needed in order to gather trash and invasive weeds.  Please wear good footwear, and bring water, layers, rain and sunwear, and work gloves.
