  • The Town of Telluride is asking the public to be aware of Monsoonal Flooding of Cornet Creek. Keep an eye on the creek and how it is flowing. Prolonged wet weather and localized heavy rainfall can trigger debris flow and flooding. If there is a flooding event, shelter in place on a second floor if possible.   • Registration is open for the Mountains to Desert bike ride- an annual fundraiser for  the Just for Kids Foundation. The race takes place on September 21st, Telluride to Gateway (100 mile) bike ride with option to start in Norwood (72 miles).   • The Telluride Choral Society invites you to join them for Wintersing 2019, “Light of the Season!” Student choirs will begin to meet Monday September 30th and Tuesday, October 1st.  The adult Chorale, for all singers, starts Wednesday, Oct. 2nd.   • Telluride Arts is accepting submissions through Tuesday, September 17 for their unique community exhibit, "An Exhibition of Broken/Mended Parts" on display October - November 2019 at the Telluride Arts HQ Gallery. Email full-sized x-ray files and the name to be credited to molly@telluridearts.org, along with any accompanying writings or artifacts. Entries can be anonymous, if preferred. This is free and open to anyone of any age.

  • Please join Sheep Mountain Alliance and local band Birds of Play for a fall Valley Floor CleanSUP on Monday, September 16th, from 12-4 pm.  Please sign up on the Sheep Mountain Alliance Facebook page.  At this FREE event, we will float down the river where we can, and walk the waterway as needed in order to gather trash and invasive weeds.  Please wear good footwear, and bring water, layers, rain and sunwear, and work gloves.

  • The second Original Thinkers festival is this October 3-6. They are looking for volunteers to donate 8 hours of their time in exchange for a weekend pass. Jobs include: Hospitality, Theatre Staff/Operations, Special Events, Food Service, Bartending, Office Support, Rigging/Set-up.   • Talking Gourds Poetry Club will meet Tuesday, September 17th at 6:00 pm @ Telluride Arts HQ. The first autumn Poetry Club features Mary Oishi. Oishi is a Japanese American poet and public radio professional who was raised by the KKK. Her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, poetry journals, newspapers, and digital publications. Everyone is welcome!
