  • True North Youth Program is providing an Academic Support program that will run weekly at TMHS library from 3-5pm every Wednesday after school. 'Base Camp' will offer students support with resumes, essays, tutoring needs and more.

  • September is Suicide Prevention Month. The Wilkinson Library will host a free screening of The S Word, a documentary about suicide and the silence that surrounds it, Monday, September 23rd, 6pm. Other Suicide Prevention Month Events include a SAFEtalk Suicide Prevention Training at Norwood Public Library, tonight, 6-9pm and tomorrow, 11am-2pm at the Ah Haa School  - sign up at https://tchnetwork.org/eventreg/. On Tuesday, Sept. 24th The S Word will screen at the Norwood Public Library, 6-8pm. On Sunday, September 29 join the community for the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. Meet in Telluride Town Park at 9:00am.

  • Talking Gourds Poetry Club will meet tomorrow at 6:00 pm @ Telluride Arts HQ. The first autumn Poetry Club features Mary Oishi. Oishi is a Japanese American poet and public radio professional who was raised by the KKK. Her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, poetry journals, newspapers, and digital publications. Everyone is welcome!

  • Telluride Dance Collective’s Mass Movement Show takes place at the Palm Theater Wednesday, September 18th, and Thursday September 19th, 7:30pm. To buy tickets, head to telluridepalm.com.

  • Please join Sheep Mountain Alliance and local band Birds of Play for a fall Valley Floor CleanSUP today, 12-4 pm.  Please sign up on the Sheep Mountain Alliance Facebook page.  At this FREE event, we will float down the river where we can, and walk the waterway as needed in order to gather trash and invasive weeds.  Please wear good footwear, and bring water, layers, rain and sunwear, and work gloves.

  • The second Original Thinkers festival is this October 3-6. We are looking for volunteers to donate 8 hours of their time in exchange for a weekend pass. Jobs include: Hospitality, Theatre Staff/Operations, Special Events, Food Service, Bartending, Office Support, Rigging/Set-up.   • The Foreign Exchange Open House at the Wilkinson Library is Thursday, September 19 at 6 p.m.  Local students who have spent a year abroad with Rotary and AFS as well as an inbound student from Brazil will be present to share their experiences, answer questions, and get you excited about spending a year abroad.  Parents and students in Middle and High School should plan to attend to get information and learn about the application process.  Deadlines are near.

  • Telluride Arts is accepting submissions through tomorrow for their unique community exhibit, "An Exhibition of Broken/Mended Parts" on display October - November 2019 at the Telluride Arts HQ Gallery. Email full-sized x-ray files and the name to be credited to molly@telluridearts.org, along with any accompanying writings or artifacts. Entries can be anonymous, if preferred. This is free and open to anyone of any age.
