  • The Town of Telluride’s Commission for Community Assistance, Arts and Special Events (CCAASE), is accepting applications for 2020 funding. Grant guidelines and applications are available at All grant applications are due by midnight, September 23rd.

  • Registration is open for the Mountains to Desert bike ride- an annual fundraiser for the Just for Kids Foundation. The race takes place on September 21st, Telluride to Gateway (100 mile) bike ride with option to start in Norwood (72 miles). To learn more & register visit

  • Talking Gourds Poetry Club will meet tonight at 6:00 pm @ Telluride Arts HQ. The first autumn Poetry Club features Mary Oishi. Oishi is a Japanese American poet and public radio professional who was raised by the KKK. Her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, poetry journals, newspapers, and digital publications. Everyone is welcome!

  • The Foreign Exchange Open House at the Wilkinson Library is Thursday, September 19 at 6 p.m.  Local students who have spent a year abroad with Rotary and AFS as well as an inbound student from Brazil will be present to share their experiences, answer questions, and get you excited about spending a year abroad.  Parents and students in Middle and High School should plan to attend to get information and learn about the application process. 

  • St. Mary’s will be having a blood drive in front of the Telluride Courthouse this Thursday, 11am-2pm.

  • The Wilkinson’s Friends of the Library Book Sale takes place this weekend. On Thursday, Sept. 19th, there will be a pre-sale for volunteers.   • Today is the final day for submissions to Telluride Arts’ unique community exhibit, "An Exhibition of Broken/Mended Parts" on display October - November 2019 at the Telluride Arts HQ Gallery. Email full-sized, x-ray files and the name to be credited, to, along with any accompanying writings or artifacts. Entries can be anonymous, if preferred. This is free and open to anyone of any age.

  • Come test your strength and celebrate the arrival of fall at the OPUS Hut Haul Challenge on Saturday, September 21st from 10 am to sunset. Festivities begin at OPUS Hut trailhead on Ophir Pass. There will be Caravan Middle Eastern Food, Telluride Brewing Company beer, water, and discounts at the OPUS Hut for all participants!! Awards will be given to: Most hauled. Most hauled in proportion to body weight, Oldest participant, Youngest  participant & Most creative hauling mechanism. It is BYOB. Bring your own bag.   • The public is invited to meet the finalists for Chief Marshall of the Town of Telluride. Thursday, September 19th at the Sheridan SHOW Bar, 5:30-6:30pm.

  • There will be a silent auction/fundraiser for local Mark Niebruegge at the Elks, this Friday, September 20th, 4-8pm. The Elks are still accepting donations to the auction, with all proceeds going to Mark’s recovery. The Auction ends at 7pm with music from Sean Deland.
