  • St. Mary’s will be having a blood drive in front of the Telluride Courthouse today, 11am-2pm.

  • Telluride Dance Collective’s Mass Movement Show takes place at the Palm Theater, tonight 7:30pm. To buy tickets, head to telluridepalm.com. There will be an after party at the Liberty, 9:30pm.

  • The public is invited to meet the finalists for Chief Marshall of the Town of Telluride. Tonight at the Sheridan SHOW Bar, 5:30-6:30pm.

  • There will be a silent auction/fundraiser for local Mark Niebruegge (knee-brug-ee) at the Elks, tomorrow, 4-8pm, with all proceeds going to Mark’s recovery.   • The Wilkinson Library will host Author Josh Aho as he presents "Climbing Colorado's 14ers With Sawyer." Sunday, September 28th. There will be a book signing at 3pm and a presentation 3:30-4:30pm on hiking and climbing, equipment demonstration and nurturing the climbing spirit with your dog.

  • Rudy Royston and Flatbed Buggy perform at the Palm Theater, Sunday, September 22nd, as part of the Palm’s Summer Jazz series. More information and tickets available at tellurideplam.com.

  • The Library’s Spanish Happy Hour is today, 5pm. Meet at La Cocina. All levels welcome! There will also be a Hispanic Heritage Celebration at the library today, 3:30pm.

  • The Friends of the Library Book Sale pre-sale is today, 4-6:30pm, open to volunteers. On Friday and Saturday the sale will take place 10am-6pm and on Sunday, 10am-Noon. You can become a member of FOL by going to www.telluridelibrary.org/fol/.

  • The second Original Thinkers festival is this October 3-6. We are looking for volunteers to donate 8 hours of their time in exchange for a weekend pass. Jobs include: Hospitality, Theatre Staff/Operations, Special Events, Food Service, Bartending, Office Support, Rigging/Set-up.   • The Foreign Exchange Open House at the Wilkinson Library is tonight, 6 p.m.  Local students who have spent a year abroad with Rotary and AFS as well as an inbound student from Brazil will be present to share their experiences, answer questions, and get you excited about spending a year abroad.  Parents and students in Middle and High School should plan to attend to get information and learn about the application process. 

  • Come test your strength and celebrate the arrival of fall at the OPUS Hut Haul Challenge on Saturday, September 21st from 10 am to sunset. Festivities begin at OPUS Hut trailhead on Ophir Pass. It is BYOB. Bring your own bag. You can stuff it, fill your arms, or put a basket on your head. The only rule is: no dragging. Come when you can, haul what you can, have a beer!
