  • San Miguel County Emergency Management will conduct a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) test on Thursday, September 26th. The test will take place around mid-day, and is intended to encompass the whole of San Miguel County. WEAs are emergency messages sent by authorized government alerting authorities through your mobile carrier. They are used to alert the public to Extreme weather and other threatening emergencies in your area, including AMBER Alerts and national emergencies. WEA will look like a text message.  

  • September is Suicide Prevention Month. Tonight, The S Word will screen at the Norwood Public Library, 6-8pm. On Sunday, September 29th, join the community for the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. Meet in Telluride Town Park at 9:00am.

  • The Wilkinson Library will host Author Josh Aho as he presents "Climbing Colorado's 14ers With Sawyer." Sunday, September 28th. There will be a book signing at 3pm and a presentation 3:30-4:30pm on hiking and climbing, equipment demonstration and nurturing the climbing spirit with your dog.

  • The 10th Annual BRAvo Auction, benefitting the San Miguel Resource Center and Bosom Buddies, is Thursday October 10th 7:30 pm at the Sheridan Bar. Stop by the Ah Haa School to pick up a bra to decorate. Deadline for bra submission is October 2nd.

  • Tri-County Health Network is proud to bring back the Skippy cavity prevention program to our schools this year. Skippy is a mobile, evidenced based oral health program offered at no cost each school year. Students receive a dental exam, cleaning, x-rays, fluoride treatment, protective sealants, and interim therapeutic restorations. Upcoming Skippy clinic dates are as follow: Naturita Elementary School on Tuesday, September 24th and Wednesday, September 25th; Nucla Middle and High School Wednesday, October 2nd and Thursday, October 3rd.

  • RISE UP for RASTA STEVIE is a Health attainment Fund Benefit Fundraiser, which will take place this Friday, September 27th, from 6-Midnight at The Sheridan Opera House.  Rasta Stevie has been on a yearlong battle with cancer and has amassed a large amount of debt for treatment. This benefit is an effort to help alleviate that debt. There will be great items for the Silent Auction, which begins at 6PM. Bidding is from 6-10PM. At 7pm, Dandylion will perform followed by a very special reunion of Telluride's own 8750! DJ  BLOODPRESHAH will be joined by Koral Delatierra, of NICENESS and many more musical acts.   • Placerville invites the community to their Annual Fall Potluck, Friday, October 4th, 5:30-7:30pm. At the Historic Placerville Schoolhouse. Please bring food of the fall harvest, your own beverages and your own table service.

  • On Saturday October 12th, on Indigenous peoples Day, the award winning Navajo duo Sihasin (SEE-HAW-SIN) returns to Telluride at the Liberty for an evening of music and more. The show is all ages and starts at 7 P.M.
