  • Telluride Adaptive Sports Program’s 21st Annual Bob Miller Memorial Golf Classic is looking for hole sponsors and prize donations. If you are interested, please contact events@tellurideadaptivesports.org.

  • The Town of Telluride’s Commission for Community Assistance, Arts and Special Events (CCAASE), is accepting applications for 2020 funding. Grant guidelines and applications are available at https://telluride.gosmart.org/. All grant applications are due by midnight, September 23rd. There will be a Mandatory Grant Forum for all new applicants which have not applied in the past two years tomorrow, September 4, at noon in Rebekah Hall. This meeting is also highly recommended for new grant writers and/or staff, as the application process has changed since the last grant cycle.

  • SMART, the San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation, will be holding community open houses throughout the region to discuss its Strategic Operating Plan project and potential service changes. The sessions will be held today in Telluride, September 4th in Norwood, and September 5th in Rico.   • CSU Extension classes are offering Summer/Fall Food Preservation classes. At the Norwood Library, Thursday September 5th, 6-9pm. They are also offering a class/field day on Native Fruit and Nuts. September 9th and 10th. Register for either by calling 970.327.4393.

  • The Telluride Choral Society invites you to join them for Wintersing 2019, “Light of the Season!” Choirs of varying ages will begin to meet September 30th and October 1st.  The Chamber Singers which require audition, starts Wednesday, Oct. 2nd.   • KOTO’s 3rd Annual Street Dance is Saturday, September 7th, featuring Futurebirds from Athens, GA and Telluride’s own Lavalanche! We need volunteers to make this event a success! Head to koto.org to see available shifts and sign-up! All volunteers will get 2 free drinks!

  • Rocky Mountain Natural Gas will begin maintenance repairs on existing 6-inch natural gas pipeline along the portion of the Galloping Goose Trail located on Lawson Hills Open Space Lands between the San Miguel River and the Lawson Hill PUD. Rock mitigation work is scheduled to start September 2 with the pipeline replacement work starting immediately after. Work will be conducted between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For safety reasons, this portion of the GGT will be closed to general public use until repairs are completed, on or before October 4th.
